On some days the world seems to stand still, on other days the headlines discuss medical advances and a long-awaited democratic win. While the world is slowly getting back on its feet and taking the first steps towards a hopeful future, there is a lot of movement in the art scene \u2013 if you look closely. This is also the case for us. Especially in these unpredictable times, we as the Central Art Gallery are moving forward and seeking art that inspires, makes people think and brings something innovative to the creative scene of the Engadin.<\/p>\n
We are pleased to officially introduce you to our two new artists:<\/p>\n

Roger Rominger brings the art of the damask knives from the Val Fex to the Central Art Gallery. The very old and original craftsmanship not only emphasises his passionate work as a blacksmith and farrier but also directly draws a connection to the nature of the Engadin. He originally creates and crafts the wild damask from the Val Fex. The damask engraving reflects the rock, which has been moved by the nature and the mountains deep in the valley. Therefore, every art work is unique.<\/p>\n
Rominger\u2019s damask knives can already be seen in the Central Art Gallery. Let yourself be inspired by the special craftsmanship.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Patrick Nyfeler investigates the freedom and fascination that art offers and attempts to elicit a certain contentment in the creation process and in the observer. His themes explore the power and motives of the wondrous B\u00fcndner mountain world but also incorporates everyday topics and draws a lot of inspiration from his role as a proud family man.<\/p>\n

From the 20th of December 2020, the Central Art Gallery will exhibit Nyfelers acrylic works, which draw on abstract ibexes and other monochrome motives. The artist also works with other mediums and materials such as spray paint, spatulas, rollers and various paint brushes while integrating unconventional canvases that include but are not limited to stone, carton and maps. Every art work is an original even if some works have several editions \u2013 every brushstroke has its very individual take.<\/p>\n

Ernestina Abb\u00fchl never fails to bring new creations to the Central Art Gallery. Whether innovative wax bowls for her “Coppas da Tschaira” series or new and exciting reliefs, the Samedan-born artist continues to implement new interpretations of ice, rock, earth and Engadin flora in her brand new works. The wax bowls and abstract reliefs made of papyrus, paraffin and wood that have been presented previously can still be seen and purchased in the gallery.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The vernissage with the artists will take place on Sunday, 20 December 2020 from 4 \u2013 7 pm in the Central Art Gallery. Enjoy both the art and the regional delicacies served by Martina Rominger, Roger Rominger’s wife and creative mind behind the Mangiabain in the Fex Valley.<\/p>\n
